Communication and consultation with all stakeholders involved or affected by the Queensland Hunter Gas Pipeline is critical to the success of this project. There are many stakeholders who either have a decision-making role, and can provide information to assist the project, or who may be affected either directly or indirectly by the project.
These stakeholders include:
- Federal and state government departments.

- Elected representatives.

- Statutory bodies and authorities.

- Utilities and transport infrastructure.

- Local councils.

- Landholders.

- Aboriginal communities and Local Aboriginal Land Councils.

- Communities around the pipeline corridor.

- Special interest groups.

The purpose of communication and consultation with these groups and individuals is to inform them about the project, the environmental assessment process, and any potential impacts and benefits. The aim will be to understand stakeholder issues and interests in relation to the project, and to use this information to develop the most appropriate pipeline route that minimises impacts. |
