Pipeline Owners
The Queensland Hunter Gas Pipeline is a proposal by Hunter Gas Pipeline Pty Ltd, a private company comprising prominent Australian businessmen with extensive experience in the resource industry. The company’s business objective is to deliver competitively priced gas supply to NSW. Its directors are:

Garbis Simonian – Managing Director
Garbis Simonian is the Managing Director of Hunter Gas Pipeline Pty Ltd, and founder of Weston Aluminium Pty Ltd. His successful business career includes Kaleej International and companies involved in Property Development, Air Freight Forwarding & Motor Vehicle Parts importing. In 1993 he was appointed as Executive Director of Mino Metal Pty Ltd, trading in nonferrous metals. Soon after he became the Managing Director of Alumino Australia Pty Ltd. In 1996, Garbis established Weston Aluminium Pty Ltd, a services company that provides innovative solutions to the aluminium and steel industries.

Hilton Grugeon – Director
Hilton Grugeon is perhaps best known for his involvement with Hunter Land, a local development company responsible for industrial, commercial and residential developments. He has been involved in development for over 25 years.
  Hilton also has interests in a wide range of manufacturing; service and retail businesses.

Ross Skerman – Director
Ross Skerman is a geologist with over 35 years of oil and gas industry experience predominantly with Delhi Petroleum, operator of the Cooper Basin, based in Adelaide.

For the past 18 years Ross has been principal of RLMS Pty Ltd, a resource industry consultancy specialising in pipeline development, corridor mapping, environmental approvals and land acquisition. As well as infrastructure mapping and industry specific charts RLMS provide the hydrocarbon industry with regular reports on the status of the upstream gas industry, gas transmission infrastructure and related developments in Eastern Australia.

Management
Bob Otjen – General Manager,
Queensland Hunter Gas Pipeline

Bob Otjen is the Project Director for the Queensland Hunter Gas Pipeline. Bob has wide and varied experience across a broad spectrum of oil and gas pipeline services, including over thirty years of experience in oil and gas pipeline and facilities in the United States, Australia, Asia Pacific and South America. Bob has worked on managing the Tenneco/El Paso/Epic Energy’s Australian pipeline business from 1993 – 1998, was the Project Director for the 800 km ($225 million) South West Queensland pipeline, and acquisitions of the Moomba to Adelaide Pipeline the DBNG Pipeline ($2+ billion) and Port Hedland Pipeline.

Chris McPherson – Sales Director
Chris McPherson has many years experience in the Australian energy industry with a background in energy trading, and recent experience in energy business development and energy sales. His industry experience covers electricity, gas renewable energy and emissions.

Chris has previously held senior positions with some of Australia’s largest corporations, including Westpac Bank, Energy Australia, Origin Energy and Orica. His background in financial markets combined with many years of experience in energy business development and energy projects, enables him to work with customers to develop commercial projects around the new Queensland Hunter Gas Pipeline.
   
Queensland Hunter Gas Pipeline
